OVERVIEW :

A Candidate Professional Architect (CPA) / Intern Architect in the Building and Construction Industry contributes to architectural projects under the guidance of a registered professional architect while completing the candidacy requirements set by the South African Council for the Architectural Profession (SACAP). This role bridges theoretical knowledge and practical application preparing the candidate for professional registration.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Architectural Design
• Construction Documentation
• Incorporation of Environmental and Urban factors
• Coordinate the integration of building services
• Compliance with Legal and Ethical Practices
• Utilizing Computer Applications
• Project Coordination
• Personal Professional Development

QUALIFICATIONS :

• Masters degree in Architecture (Professional) or equivalent SACAP-accredited qualification at NQF Level 9.
• Enrolment in a SACAP-recognized candidacy program leading to professional registration.

COMPETENCIES :

• Advanced understanding of architectural design principles, theory, and history.
• Proficiency in preparing construction documentation for complex projects.
• Knowledge of urban design, environmental sustainability, and building technologies.
• Familiarity with legal frameworks, contracts, and ethical practices in architecture.
• Strong communication, research, and analytical skills.
