Ilifa Labantwana seeks a Campaign Coordinator to support the Side-by-Side Campaign, ensuring effective digital content management and community engagement across various platforms. Ilifa works with the Department of Health through the Side-by-Side Campaign, to ensure that all children under five receive the nurturing care they need to develop in order to reach their potential. It relies on all role players caring for caregivers and pregnant women to work alongside each other. The Side-by-Side Campaign plays an important part in developing the wellbeing of children focusing on its five pillars of nutrition, love, protection, health care and extra care.
Purpose
The Campaign Coordinator role is to provide support to the Health Systems Strengthening portfolio with specific focus on the Side-by-Side Campaign by creating and posting compelling content across our social media platforms in accordance with agreed upon schedules, engaging caregivers on the platforms to build a supportive and interactive online community and designing impactful social media materials that inspire and inform.
Responsibilities
• Side by Side Campaign Coordination: Provide support to the Campaign, maintain effective day-to-day administration, planning and execution of all events. Working with the Campaign Manager to develop digital content, event activities, a quarterly newsletter and maintain the Side-by-Side website.
• Digital and social media: Working with the Campaign Manager support the development of content, social media and digital content and execute digital campaigns to build online community momentum.
• Reporting: Compile monthly and quarterly reports for the Side-by-Side campaign. Compile a database of campaign followers, their frequently asked questions and highlight key issues arising from caregivers and parents. Conduct quarterly evaluation of the Side-by-Side Facebook page through audience questionnaires. Participate in Ilifa team engagements and prepare progress updates when required. Any other ad hoc reports that may arise during the course campaign activities.
• Administration: Compile and distribute minutes for bi-monthly Side-by-Side meetings held at the National Department of Health. Assist the Campaign manager to compile and distribute minutes for the Health and Nutrition Subcommittee. Prepare internal administrative forms for any campaign expenditure or internal administrative purposes.
Requirements and competencies:
• Degree or diploma in Communication/Media/Administration
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a communications or coordinator role.
• Computer literate at intermediate to advanced level in Microsoft 365.
• Strong writing, editing, and proofing skills.
• Thorough understanding of and ability to use social media, i.e. Instagram, LinkedIn, X (formerly Twitter), YouTube and Facebook.
• Good understanding and practical application of Google Analytics, website and content management.
• Events coordination experience, specifically webinar hosting and livestreaming events.
• Experience with communications, monitoring and evaluation reports to internal and external stakeholders.
• Good written and spoken English.
• Videography/photography and related editing skills would be advantageous.
Proficient in the following software packages and online platforms:
• Mailchimp (or any other similar CRM software)
• WordPress
• Zoom and Microsoft Teams
• Social media: Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube etc.
• Canva or similar would be advantageous.
