Job description

We are looking for technician will be responsible for the installation of cables and cameras at client's premises. Maintains quality levels according to set standards. Maintains and monitors interface stock levels. Completes administrative documentation as and when required.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES / TASKS :

  • Troubleshoot, resolve Network Cabling and Telecommunication related calls.
  • Do all Network Cabling related administration including the update of network drawings.
  • Install and administer all CCTV equipment.
  • Cleaning and checking operational status of camera and equipment parts.
  • Assembling and setting up equipment
  • Planning and preparing for installations.
  • Structured cabling
  • Analyse positions and adjust in placement and controls related to camera.
  • Reporting on outstanding call on weekly basis
  • Ensuring that response times are kept within the parameters set in the SLA.
  • Reporting status to management. Identifying problems and bringing them to the Manager’s attention with sufficient lead time to avert crises.
  • Working effectively as part of a team and seeks to support the team’s goals.
  • Broadening own technical, functional, and industry skill base
  • Engaging in formal and informal knowledge transfer
  • Monitor and manage all network related stock on Customers site.
  • Insure that all work done is of a high standard.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS :

  • In depth knowledge of the relevant functional area.
  • Strong telephonic fault-finding technical skills.
  • Strong client service skills including the ability to deal with all levels of computer literacy.
  • Good methodical problem-solving skills on Industrial and Office networks.
  • Good cabling skills CAT5e and CAT6.
  • Quality orientated.
  • Previous exposure to a production environment.
  • Knowledge of fiber splicing and blow fiber.

EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE NECESSARY :

Educational Qualifications :

  • Matric; Technical Support NQF Level 4
