Job description

A vacancy exists for a C# Developer, based at Life Healthcare, Head Office in Dunkeld, reporting to the Team Lead.

The successful candidate will be responsible for meeting the needs of internal and external customers through the execution of the LHC strategic and operational objectives in growth, quality & people by formulating and delivering system solutions.

Critical Outputs

Effective management of the day-to-day use, performance, and maintenance of designated systems, including:

Translate application storyboards and use cases into functional applications
Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable C# code
Ensure optimal performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications
Identify bottlenecks and bugs, devising solutions to these problems
Help maintain code quality, organization, and automation
Coordinate creation of Handover documentation

Production support and bug fixing of bespoke products

Design and participate in design reviews

Engage in projects with business units to ensure:

Smooth delivery
Manage business expectations
Application and environmental stability

Participate in design discussions, review sessions, and prototyping

Provide effective support and liaise between IM and Business:

Communicate with business units as per engagement model
Provide reports and management information on system performance, issues, and changes

Stay informed about trends, developments, best practices, and competitive activities related to system functionalities and capabilities

Implement and adhere to relevant policies and procedures, ensuring compliance in IT delivery

Address IT audit findings with appropriate solutions

Monitor capacity, constraints, and suggest infrastructure improvements

Identify process gaps where systems do not support business requirements and implement solutions

Collaborate across user groups, translating requirements into functional solutions

Requirements

Minimum 5 years of experience in C# development
Experience in integrating systems using Service-Oriented Architecture standards
Unit test development skills
Knowledge of automated testing techniques (advantageous)
Assist with code reviews
Produce high-quality, clean, and readable code, avoiding anti-patterns
Ability to work independently or as part of a team
