Role Purpose

To support the execution of trades across equities, derivatives, and foreign exchange markets under the guidance of senior dealers, ensuring timely and accurate trade processing and contributing to the delivery of optimal outcomes for internal Asset Management and Multi-Management clients.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Investment Management, or a related field.
  • Progress toward or interest in completing JSE Registered Persons Exams (RPE) is advantageous.
  • 0–2 years of experience in financial markets, trading support, or investment environment.
  • Exposure to investment management systems and market data platforms (e.g., Bloomberg) is beneficial.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Stakeholder relationship management.
Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Head to plan, implement, and take joint accountability for best-practice trading frameworks at Momentum Investments.
  • Manage all dealing activities within the equity, FX, and derivatives portfolios.
  • Assist in placing and monitoring trade orders across various markets.
  • Ensure trade instructions are accurately communicated and reconciled.
  • Maintain relationships with brokers and the investment team.
  • Extract market information discreetly and stay updated on industry trends.
  • Adhere to trading policies, legal, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support documentation and record-keeping for audits and compliance.
  • Share insights and updates with team members.
  • Review orders for accuracy and compliance.
  • Monitor market developments and prepare daily summaries and market commentary.
  • Source best pricing for derivatives and fixed income instruments, ensuring accurate execution and settlement.
  • Manage business risks and ensure cost efficiency.
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal teams and external providers.
  • Provide professional dealing services with timely and best execution.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Contribute to team knowledge sharing and professional development.
