An exciting opportunity exists in the Boland for a well-organised and detail-oriented Buying Assistant to join a dynamic lifestyle buying team. This key support role ensures the smooth administrative and logistical flow that enables products to arrive on time and meet the required standard.

The Buying Assistant handles day-to-day operations, allowing buyers to focus on sourcing and creative direction. With strong attention to detail and cross-team coordination, this role is vital in maintaining high product standards and seasonal consistency.

Requirements:

  • Diploma or degree in retail buying, commerce, supply chain or related field
  • 3–5 years’ experience in buying admin or procurement support, ideally in retail or homeware
  • Excellent organisational skills and a process-driven mindset
  • Fluent in Afrikaans and English
  • Proficient in Excel, Outlook, and data-entry tools
  • Strong communicator with a proactive, problem-solving attitude
  • Ability to manage competing priorities under pressure
  • Interest in lifestyle product development and brand alignment

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide admin support to buyers and maintain timelines for product launches
  • Book couriers, track shipments, and communicate updates
  • Manage sample logistics: requesting, receiving, tracking, organising, and returning
  • Coordinate photoshoot logistics and sample preparation
  • Work with procurement to raise and update purchase orders
  • Maintain internal systems with accurate product data and timelines
  • Collaborate with warehouse, e-commerce, creative and marketing teams
  • Keep supplier records up to date and follow up on outstanding info or samples
