A leading company in retail is looking for a Buyers Assistant in East London. The successful candidate will support the Buying Department, performing order administration, data management, and assisting Buyers with various reports. Candidates should have excellent administrative capabilities and a Matric with experience in a retail buying environment.
Experience : Minimum 2years' experience in a similar role / in a retail environmentReporting Structure : HOD of Buying DepartmentQualification : Minimum requirement of a Matric + 2 years' experience in a similar role / in a retail environmentQualification in Fashion Design / similar administrative role (advantageous)Driver's LicenseAdvanced Microsoft Excel SkillsJob Purpose : The Buyers Assistant supports the needs of the Buying Department and Senior Buyers and needs to be proficient across all tasks relating to these roles.
Competencies (skills and attributes) : Manage Time EfficientlyStrong Numeracy and Literacy SkillsData expert (advanced excel)Excellent communication SkillsExcellent administrative SkillsHighly flexible and adaptable to suit departmental needsAbility to work within a team and as an individualKEY RESPONSIBILITIES : Order AdministrationUpdate OTB (Open to Buy) sheets and notify BuyersAdministration of all products and orders placed by BuyersProduct and orders control checks to ensure data integrityManage Kimble, swing tag and courier requirements ReportingFollow up on outstanding orders and report to BuyersCompile competitive pricing reportsAssist Buyers in compiling specific reports e.g., best / worst sellers, promotion productDelivery and Quality ApprovalsSign off product deliveries against Buyer's order specificationsSign off on product quality using sample received from warehouse Sample ControlSample follow ups with suppliersMaintain sample archiving processesPrepare samples for review and promotional activitiesCompile review outcome documentAssist with sample management in the promotion process and oversee correct use of product On the Buyers behalf.
