We are looking for a Consumable Buyer/Procurement/Purchasing Officer based in Gqeberha in the Manufacturing industry.

Job Summary:

As a Consumable Buyer/Procurement/Purchasing Officer, your role will focus on supplier relationship management, and ensuring the optimal balance between cost, quality, and efficiency in the consumable procurement process. A pivotal role in securing high-quality and cost-efficient supplies for our business.

Responsibilities:
  1. Implement and optimize procurement budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and financial efficiency.
  2. Implement cost-saving initiatives while maintaining high-quality standards in consumable procurement.
  3. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand end-user requirements and preferences.
  4. Streamline and enhance the procurement process for consumables, ensuring efficiency and compliance.
  5. Implement procurement strategies that align with overall business objectives.
  6. Stay abreast of industry trends, market dynamics, and pricing changes in consumable procurement.
  7. Achieve targeted cost savings through negotiation and strategic sourcing.
  8. Monitor and improve supplier relationships to ensure timely deliveries and high-quality products.
  9. Enhance procurement processes to reduce lead times.
  10. Generate reports on stock levels, purchasing activities, and costs for management.
  11. Follow up on quotes, back orders, and pricing requests daily.
  12. Raise purchase requisitions and purchase orders, ensuring proper documentation and approvals, and follow up on outstanding documents.
  13. Manage consumable procurement for all four offices.
  14. Estimate and establish budgets for purchases.
  15. Maintain purchase records and other important data.
  16. Negotiate pricing and supply contracts.
  17. Complete supplier credit application forms and gather supporting documentation.
  18. Process staff expense claims.
  19. Perform General Ledger reconciliations.
  20. Raise accruals at month-end for expenses.
