Description: Our client in the agriculture industry is seeking a Buyer / Stock Controller to join their team based in Bedford, Eastern Cape, located between Cradock and Grahamstown.

Requirements:
  • Strong knowledge of construction materials and equipment.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Proficient in procurement software and MS Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Bilingual abilities would be advantageous.
Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate and select suppliers based on quality, price, and delivery time.
  • Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements with suppliers to secure the best deals.
  • Coordinate with project managers to determine purchasing needs and establish delivery timelines.
  • Manage inventory levels to prevent shortages and overstock situations.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, supplier interactions, and inventory status.
  • Resolve issues with suppliers regarding quality, pricing, and delivery discrepancies.
  • Assist in evaluating supplier performance and recommend improvements.
  • Stay informed about industry developments and new products related to construction.
