Placements24 is seeking an experienced Buyer for a prominent construction materials distributor in Polokwane. You will manage procurement of raw materials and finished goods, source local and international suppliers, and negotiate terms to secure cost-effective inventory for market demand.

In this role, you will track orders, monitor stock levels, build strong supplier relationships, and collaborate with sales and logistics to forecast procurement needs, ensuring timely deliveries and compliance

Qualifications

• National Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or Business.
• 3–5 years' experience as a Buyer or similar purchasing role.
• Proven negotiation skills and supplier contracts experience.
• Familiarity with inventory management principles.
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of Polokwane construction materials market is advantageous.

About the Role

Our client, a prominent distributor of construction materials in Polokwane , is actively seeking a dedicated and experienced Buyer to manage the procurement of raw materials and finished goods. This role is vital for ensuring the efficient and cost-effective acquisition of inventory to meet market demand. The Buyer will be responsible for sourcing from local and international suppliers, negotiating terms, and maintaining strong supplier relationships to support the company's operations in Limpopo .

Key Responsibilities

• Identify potential suppliers and establish relationships to ensure a reliable supply chain.
• Obtain quotes, compare prices, and negotiate favourable terms with suppliers.
• Place purchase orders and manage the order process from inception to delivery.
• Monitor inventory levels and ensure adequate stock to meet sales and production needs.

Requirements
