Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12
  • Experience as a Butchery Manager or 2-3 years in a supervisory role in a retail or butchery environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of meat cuts, food safety, and butchery techniques.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
  • Excellent customer service skills with a passion for delivering high-quality products.
  • Strong organizational skills, including inventory management and waste reduction.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead & Manage the Butchery Department: Oversee daily operations, inventory control, ordering, and ensure top-quality cuts for customers.
  • Maintain High Standards of Hygiene & Safety: Ensure meat handling, storage, and display practices meet safety regulations and standards.
  • Enhance Customer Experience: Provide exceptional service, expert advice, and custom cuts to meet customer needs.
  • Drive Sales & Profits: Develop strategies to boost sales, reduce waste, and maximize profitability.
  • Lead & Train a High-Performing Team: Manage, train, and mentor staff to ensure knowledge, skills, and motivation.

  • Ability to cut, pack, manufacture, and merchandise butchery products.
  • Ability to operate all butchery equipment.
  • Friendly customer service skills.
  • Passion and product knowledge of butchery products.
