This position reports to: Finance Manager

Purpose of this position:

The Business Process Analyst: Marketplace Finance is a critical role focused on analyzing and improving financial processes within Takealot’s marketplace ecosystem. Responsibilities include analyzing workflows, identifying inefficiencies, and implementing data-driven solutions to enhance financial visibility, internal controls, compliance, and risk management, supporting operational excellence and growth.

Your responsibilities will include:
  1. Process Analysis & Continuous Improvement
  2. Conduct analysis of financial processes and workflows
  3. Identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies
  4. Design and implement optimized processes
  5. Develop process documentation and SOPs
  6. Lead process improvement initiatives
  7. Collaborate with stakeholders for requirements gathering and validation
  1. Financial Data Analysis & Insights
  2. Analyze financial data for trends and anomalies
  3. Create reports and dashboards for financial performance
  4. Develop and monitor KPIs
  5. Conduct root cause analysis
  6. Provide recommendations for process and decision improvements
  7. Support financial reporting activities
  1. Financial Visibility & Reporting Enhancement
  2. Develop financial dashboards and automated reports
  3. Create forecasting models
  4. Establish performance metrics and monitoring systems
  5. Generate ad-hoc analysis for management
  6. Ensure data accuracy across systems
  1. Internal Controls & Risk Assessment

Minimum Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or related field
Minimum Required Experience:
  • 3-5 years in financial analysis, business analysis, or process improvement
Minimum Required Competencies:
  • Business analysis or process improvement certifications (e.g., Lean Six Sigma) beneficial
  • Experience with process mapping, analysis, and optimization
  • Experience with financial systems and ERPs
  • Background in e-commerce or digital platforms advantageous
  • Knowledge of financial controls and risk management
Technical Skills:
  • Advanced Excel and financial modeling
  • Process mapping tools (Visio, Lucidchart)
  • Data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau)
  • SQL or similar query languages
  • ERP systems familiarity
  • Workflow automation technologies
