Responsibilities will include but not limited to :
Analyse the monthly spend against the approved capital plan for the mine, identifying trends, investigate variances, and identifying and clearly articulate risks and opportunitiesAssist in developing long term plans for the mine incorporating mine and processing, functional and infrastructure plansContinuously track and report operational financial performanceDocuments the project justification and the mine’s KPI’s on behalf of the sponsor and evaluates proposed projectsIdentify and develop cost-effective processes to increase efficiency and reduce cost driversIntegration of the short-term plan for the mine and how they compare to one another e.g., this role will perform the analysis of the various costs and product impacts and thereafter suggest amendments to the plan for value optimizationInterface with operational business units and functional leads on project work, Resource and Development Plans and Life of Mine (LoM) Plans and give inputs into the mine model, working closely with financial controller for the preparation and running of operational cost models though cost accounting methods and modelsDevelop and maintain a Xeras costing model for the oprating incorporating the operation specific inputs and way of operatingMake use of Xeras to calculate the budget and LOM from a zero-base and consolidate the full budget with the calculated values and fixed cost inputsPerform analysis to ensure that all commercial decisions consider value (cost, margin, EBIT, FCF), risk, cost and opportunityPerform financial analysis including variance, scenario, and option analysisPreparing and delivering presentations, reports, and submissions in an objective, comprehensive, and balanced form to a wide range of stakeholdersResponsible to review and collate all capital inputs in terms of the planning cycles for assigned area of responsibility and submit for mine consolidationTrack and report cost and productivity initiativesRequirements :
Degree / National Diploma in Business / Commerce / Finance or EngineeringMinimum 3 years’ experience in a related field of which 1 year in a supervisor position.Understanding of ERP systems, budgeting, forecastingUnderstanding of cost planning principles; first principles, variable cost, fixed cost, etcExperience in Process Cost reporting and planningRelevant influencing, networking, planning, organising, and problem-solving skillsGood analytical skillsAdvanced MS Office Excel & PowerPointExcellent computer literacy skills (MS Office)SAP experienceValid driver’s licenseIn possession or able to obtain a valid Certificate of FitnessAdvantageous :
