About the Role

We are looking for a proactive, organized, and people-savvy Business Operations Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will serve as a key connector between our internal departments and the Finance team — gathering the data, context, and inputs that Finance needs to build accurate budgets, forecasts, and headcount plans.

Success in this role is less about building the financial models yourself and more about knowing the right questions to ask, keeping stakeholders organized and on track, and ensuring Finance always has clean, reliable information to work with. This is a great fit for someone who thrives on cross-functional collaboration, stays on top of the details, and brings structure to ambiguous situations.

Key Responsibilities

Finance Liaison & Data Coordination

  • Act as the primary point of contact between internal business units and the Finance team for budget cycles, forecasting rounds, and headcount planning.

  • Collect, organize, and validate inputs from department leads (headcount changes, spend requests, project forecasts) and package them for Finance in a consistent, usable format.

  • Proactively follow up with stakeholders to ensure Finance deliverables are complete, accurate, and submitted on time.

  • Surface inconsistencies or gaps in the data before they reach Finance, flagging issues and working with the appropriate teams to resolve them.

  • Maintain a clear view of where each department stands against budget and help teams understand their numbers in plain language.

Planning & Headcount Tracking

  • Track open roles, backfills, and headcount changes across the organization, keeping records current and reconciled with HR and Finance systems.

  • Support the annual and mid-year planning process by coordinating submission timelines, gathering department-level inputs, and ensuring completeness.

  • Help business unit leads prepare for Finance reviews by organizing their materials, anticipating questions, and ensuring supporting data is in order.

  • Monitor changes to headcount plans or budgets throughout the year and communicate updates clearly to impacted stakeholders.

Operational Reporting & Organizational Support

  • Maintain shared trackers, templates, and reference documents that keep operational and financial data organized and accessible.

  • Pull and format standard reports from internal systems to support recurring business reviews and ad hoc stakeholder requests.

  • Assist with org-wide initiatives such as workforce planning, cost center updates, or operational process improvements.

  • Help draft clear, concise summaries and presentations that translate operational data into actionable insights for leadership.

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of experience in business operations, project coordination, or a similar cross-functional role

  • Comfortable working with financial data — able to read a budget or variance report, even if not building the models

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple workstreams and deadlines simultaneously

  • Natural communicator who can work effectively with both operational teams and Finance stakeholders

  • High attention to detail, especially when handling data that others will rely on

  • Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets required

  • Experience with shared trackers or project management tools a plus

  • Familiarity with HRIS or ERP systems (e.g., Workday, SAP, NetSuite) is a plus

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations, Finance, or a related field preferred
