Business Line Manager - Parts and Services - M5

We are seeking a Business Line Manager for Parts and Services in our Mining division, reporting to the Vice President of Sales Southern Africa. This role involves representing the parts & services commercial business in the sales area, including business development, distributor management, people management, sales & profitability, and local implementation of global parts & services portfolios and product line focus areas.

Main responsibilities:

  1. Implement Global divisional strategies within a matrix organization.
  2. Meet sales targets and cascade relevant targets to teams.
  3. Provide regular business performance reports to management.
  4. Collaborate with senior management on forecasts, budgets, and targets.
  5. Manage end-user and customer relationships effectively.
  6. Review and refine sales strategies based on performance metrics.
  7. Manage performance and results of relevant managers.
  8. Oversee multiple teams across locations.
  9. Maintain financial discipline within the Southern Africa sales area, managing expenses.
  10. Create customer value propositions to promote aftermarket offerings.
  11. Drive sales initiatives for service offerings to ensure sustainable business.
  12. Conduct commercial activities aligned with account management plans.
  13. Execute Total Cost of Ownership models as defined.
  14. Recruit, develop, and manage cross-border sales teams and individuals.
  15. Manage budgets for the Sales Area and Customer Support Centre.

Qualifications:

  • Post-matric professional qualification such as a 3-year National Diploma in Mining Engineering or Mechanical/Electrical Engineering (NQF Level 6), or Grade 12 with relevant Higher Certificate (NQF Level 5) and 12 years’ experience, or Mine Manager/Government Certificate of Competency with 12 years’ experience.
  • Degree in Mining Engineering or Mechanical/Electrical Engineering (NQF Level 7) is advantageous.
  • Studying towards an MBA / MBL is advantageous.

Experience:

  • At least 10 years of broad-based business management experience, with 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Experience in a mining environment and sales/marketing is advantageous.
  • Skills in account management, finance, quality management, and project management.

Other Requirements:

  • Physical and medical ability to work in an underground mining environment as per medical standards.
