Job Description
FNB is seeking a dedicated and experienced Credit Manager to oversee and manage the credit risk associated within our income-producing real estate portfolio.
This role will focus on analyzing funding requests for income-generating properties across various asset classes (e.g., commercial, industrial, residential income, retail).
The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of financial analysis, risk management, and the unique credit considerations within the income-producing property market.
FNB's Commercial IPRE portfolio is a national portfolio with a decentralised sales force and a centralised credit team based in Fairlands, Johannesburg.
The successful candidate will manage a regional portfolio of dealmakers and may be required to travel from time to time.
The successful candidate will also provide coaching and mentoring to relevant internal (Business Judgemental Credit Manager I) and external teams (Relationship Managers).
Responsibilities include managing the portfolio within the bank's risk appetite and asset growth targets, assessing and approving annual reviews and ad hoc requests, and conducting client visits.
Presentations to credit committees, active participation in regional credit meetings, and ongoing credit risk management at origination are key duties.
The role involves daily monitoring of counterparties, covenant compliance, and approving or recommending exposures across multiple products.
Assessment and structuring of credit applications, ensuring governance and process adherence, and maintaining efficient workflow are essential.
The candidate will also develop stakeholder relationships, drive customer service, ensure legislative and audit compliance, and stay updated on industry trends.
