Job Description

ROLE PURPOSE

  • Leads the iPlan process to gather competitive information with relevant support Team
  • Manage the supply and capturing of all incoming relevant market information to finance and AME Head Office from Sales and Marketing counterparts.
  • Support the marketing department in terms market research studies and strategic market direction and supporting Campaign Leads on strategic marketing product positioning.
  • Provide price support and monitoring for key commodity products in the market to ensure price competitive position for Price/Volume deals to support stock management and business delivery.
  • Maintenance of the following functions:
    • Validates correctness of incoming data for price adjustments
    • Manages iPlan and 5 Year plan process
    • Supports Budget presentation slides
    • Prepares SOP Marketing files
    • Provides monthly pricing guidance to Sales and Marketing on actual COGS products and makes recommendations on price adjustments in line with forward exchange rates and new COGS.
    • Monitors Market developments impacting Syngenta business
    • Provides pricing guidance on commodity product portfolio on monthly basis

ACCOUNTABILITIES

Market information:

  • Annual collection of market information and updating of the iPlan system to be integrated into the Anaplan database, supplying international- and local management key data to make business and portfolio decisions.
  • Verify accuracy of all incoming data with price monitoring system.
  • Provide monthly updates to EAME CP Pricing Manager

Market research studies:

  • Plan and lead pro-active market research studies related to multinational competitor strategies and new product introduction into the global agrochemical- and bioscience market.
  • Monitoring the introduction of new compounds by Syngenta and competitors into the marketplace and ensure capturing of this information into iPlan business intelligence system.
  • Support Head of Sales and Area Sales Managers with price analysis and price proposals for season prices.
  • Provide Marketing and Sales Excellence procedures to establish pricing for NPI together with Campaign Leads.

Management and maintenance:

  • Ensure the upload of iPlan data into Anaplan and consolidates 5Year plan with iPlan
  • Coordinate the maintenance of all marketing related databases.
  • Propose pricing strategies for products under different constraints, f.e. slow movers, products under allocation in season.
  • Leads and manages ISA price adjustment process.

Finance and Supply Support:

  • Provides in consultation with Head of Sales and Marketing a link to Head of Finance and Supply with recommended price solutions to manage product price increases on COGS changes and ensures pricing changes are captured with Supply.
Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Critical Knowledge:

  • Excellent Excel and PowerPoint Skills.
  • Degree in Agricultural Economics or similarwith excellent large data processing skills.
  • Understanding of basic farm operations and terms will be necessary
  • Sound understanding and network in the Agrochemical industry in ZA and an ability to compile supporting information for pricing and budget decisions.
  • Excellent cross-functional interdepartmental skills to gain data and present data for decision making process.
  • Strong on attention to detail and accuracy, a good overall administrator.
  • Sound experience in finance and budgeting.
  • Preferably 3Years + experience in similar role
  • An effective communicator with good interpersonal skills; a team player that can challenge with strong reasoning
