African Parks Network is seeking a passionate data engineer to join its Business Intelligence Unit. In this role, you will enhance the infrastructure necessary for data-driven decision-making related to conservation efforts, by building and maintaining effective data pipelines utilizing Microsoft Fabric and Azure. Your collaboration with stakeholders will be pivotal in translating requirements into robust technical solutions, ensuring data integrity and accessibility for impactful conservation initiatives.
African Parks is developing an innovative solution that enables decision-making based on data from its ecological, social, financial, and management systems, visualized in a single environment. We are offering an exciting opportunity for a data engineer passionate about conservation to build the foundation of African Parks' data warehouse in Microsoft Fabric & Azure. You will expand the existing infrastructure by ensuring data from key systems flows through effective ETL pipelines, enabling decision-driving dashboards and data products built by your team of data analysts.
You will work within the Business Intelligence Unit of African Parks as the technical lead on data warehousing and its associated ETL pipelines. Your colleagues will rely on you to make the data available for building impact dashboards and other data products that inform important decisions. You will act as a bridge between the BI Unit's needs, system administrators, and the technology department, ensuring smooth and well-documented processes in collaboration with the enterprise architect. The ideal candidate combines technical expertise with an interest in data-driven conservation decision-making and skills in stakeholder engagement and documentation.
Responsibilities
