Description

Our client in the Pharmaceutical Industry is currently looking to employ a Business Intelligence (BI) Developer, based in Johannesburg (Parktown).

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

• Microsoft BI Certification is advantageous.

• Minimum 2+ years of proven experience as a BI Developer with focus on Microsoft SQL Server and Power BI.

• Experience with data modeling and designing scalable data warehouses.

• Strong knowledge of SQL, ETL processes, and BI development best practices.

• Proficiency in BI tools such as Power BI; experience with PHP & MySQL is advantageous.

• Familiarity with cloud technologies is an advantage.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

• Ability to work on multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain BI solutions using Microsoft SQL Server, Power BI, and other BI tools.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and interpret data requirements.

• Design and optimize SQL queries, views, and stored procedures for ETL processes.

• Ensure data accuracy and integrity within BI systems.

• Provide daily support, troubleshooting, and maintenance of existing BI solutions.

• Maintain technical documentation for BI processes, reports, and data models.

• Participate in the full software development life cycle, from design through to deployment.

• Assist the BI team in daily operations and ad hoc data/reporting tasks.

• Continuously improve BI solutions in alignment with evolving business needs.

Collaboration and Communication:

• Liaise with business stakeholders and users to translate data into actionable insights.

• Work effectively as part of a BI team within a fast-paced pharmaceutical environment.

• Clearly communicate potential issues and proposed solutions proactively.

Reporting:

• Generate and distribute reports with real-time data insights.

• Provide ongoing analysis to support strategic and operational decisions.

• Ensure alignment of data output with business goals and compliance requirements.

Other:

• Position is 100% office-based (no remote work).

• Must be able to manage own workload independently.

• No travel required.
