Job description

To increase the company's profits through effective business development and delivering the company's wide range of integrated facilities management services to prospective clients.

The ideal candidate will have established relationships within the public sector, strong technical expertise, and a deep understanding of the FM industry supply dynamics.

This role focuses on the public-sector sales segment by prospecting new clients and working closely with the solutions design team to promote BFM within the national, local, and SOE spheres.

Responsibilities
Strategic Sales
  • Continuously grow profit levels through innovative ideas, new business, and client spend enhancement.
  • Understand the customer's business and the associated strategies, plans, competitive position, and trading methods to create a partnering concept to build solutions.
  • Formulate and execute public segment plans to generate resources and revenue for the company.
  • Actively search, pursue, and engage potential clients within the Facilities Management Services and Bundled Services arena.
  • Draft, review, and submit high-quality proposals for Facilities Management Services and Bundled Services.
  • Engage with strategic suppliers to partner with Facilities Management when proposing solutions.
  • Analyze and negotiate commercial models with strategic partners to ensure the optimum commercial and operational solution.
  • Identify new opportunities and innovative ways to do business.
  • Execute strategic initiatives to accelerate growth in business development and increase market share.
  • Develop and implement creative, unique, and effective selling techniques based on market research.
  • Develop negotiation strategies by aligning with company strategies and operations.
Sourcing New Business
  • Identify leads, new markets, and industry trends through comprehensive research.
  • Provide accurate forecasts and maintain relevant prospect information.
  • Deliver rapid and accurate cost calculations and market-related quotations.
  • Represent the company at high-level meetings, trade exhibitions, and events.
  • Negotiate business development agreements and close deals.
  • Explore new growth opportunities across industries.
Client Relationship Management
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with current and potential clients throughout the sales cycle.
  • Ensure effective communication and coordinate client site visits and presentations.
  • Engage with internal teams to ensure business transactions are accurate and ethical.
Reporting
  • Provide monthly pipeline reports on current and potential business.
Education
  • Matric (Senior Certificate)
  • Bachelor's Degree or National Diploma in Sales, Business Development, Project Management, or Supply Chain (preferable)
  • Valid SA Driver's License
Experience
  • 4-6 years relevant experience.
  • Solid knowledge of business development, market trends, and best practices.
  • Strong commercial awareness and change management experience.
  • Knowledge of facilities management, CRM, property, and financial management systems.
  • Excellent project, time, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook (advanced level).
  • Understanding of OHS Act, ISO Quality Management, and Risk Management Systems.
