Business Development Representative (Remote) (JB5287)

Remote, for applicants residing in Cape Town

R25 000 - R30 000 Basic plus commission, cellphone and laptop

Duration: Permanent


An exciting opportunity exists for a driven and results-oriented Business Development Representative with experience in the FIBC packaging industry. This remote-based role is ideal for candidates residing in Cape Town and involves servicing clients across Western Cape. The successful candidate will focus primarily on new business development while maintaining a select portfolio of existing accounts under guidance. A strong professional presence, proactive sales approach, and ability to work independently are essential for success in this role.


Minimum Requirements:

  1. Proven experience in a proactive, hunter-style sales role, preferably within the packaging or FIBC industry
  2. Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to engage clients across various levels
  3. Ability to identify and close new business opportunities while nurturing existing client relationships
  4. Self-motivated, results-driven, and highly organised
  5. Valid driver’s license and own a reliable vehicle for client visits and travel (Travel reimbursements apply based on submitted trip reports)
  6. Remote work set-up with a willingness to travel regularly across assigned regions
  7. Professional conduct and appearance in line with industry standards
  8. Prior exposure to clients in sectors such as agriculture, food production, or chemicals would be advantageous (e.g. fertilizer industry)

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Actively prospect, cold call, and network to develop new business opportunities within the FIBC packaging sector
  2. Identify and engage high-potential clients in industries such as agriculture, chemicals, and food
  3. Maintain and nurture select existing client accounts under management guidance
  4. Close sales deals, negotiate pricing and terms and meet or exceed agreed-upon sales targets
  5. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure efficient order processing and on-time delivery
  6. Gather and share insights on customer needs, market trends, and competitor activity
  7. Deliver weekly reports on sales activity, pipeline development, and customer feedback
  8. Uphold confidentiality of sensitive business and client information at all times
