Business Development Representative (Remote) – Cape Town.

An exciting opportunity exists for a driven and results-oriented Business Development Representative with experience in the FIBC packaging industry.

This remote-based role is ideal for candidates residing in Cape Town and involves servicing clients across Western Cape.

The successful candidate will focus primarily on new business development while maintaining a select portfolio of existing accounts under guidance.

A strong professional presence, proactive sales approach, and ability to work independently are essential for success in this role.

Remote, for applicants residing in Cape Town.

Salary: R25 000 – R30 000 Basic plus commission, cellphone and laptop.

Duration: Permanent.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a proactive, hunter-style sales role, preferably within the packaging or FIBC industry
  • Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to engage clients across various levels
  • Ability to identify and close new business opportunities while nurturing existing client relationships
  • Self-motivated, results-driven, and highly organised
  • Valid driver’s license and own a reliable vehicle for client visits and travel (Travel reimbursements apply based on submitted trip reports)
  • Remote work set-up with a willingness to travel regularly across assigned regions
  • Professional conduct and appearance in line with industry standards
  • Prior exposure to clients in sectors such as agriculture, food production, or chemicals would be advantageous (e.g. fertilizer industry)

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Actively prospect, cold call, and network to develop new business opportunities within the FIBC packaging sector
  • Identify and engage high-potential clients in industries such as agriculture, chemicals, and food
  • Maintain and nurture select existing client accounts under management guidance
  • Close sales deals, negotiate pricing and terms and meet or exceed agreed-upon sales targets
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure efficient order processing and on-time delivery
  • Gather and share insights on customer needs, market trends, and competitor activity
  • Deliver weekly reports on sales activity, pipeline development, and customer feedback
  • Uphold confidentiality of sensitive business and client information at all times
