I'm currently recruiting for a high-impact Business Development & Planning Analyst role on a 6-month contract within a global FMCG client based in Cape Town. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a business that's transforming its product line and the entire industry.

Your Day-to-Day Will Include:
- Commercial Strategy & Business Analysis
- Translate commercial strategy into actionable financial and operational plans.
- Conduct scenario analysis to assess volume growth, market share outlook, and pricing.
- Own the pricing approval process and ensure system accuracy.
- Maintain the SFP Sensitivity Model to support sales forecasting.
- Track and analyze SFP-related commercial initiatives and trade programs.
- Group & Regional Reporting
- Ensure timely monthly submissions for group and regional reporting.
- Compile quarterly competitor analyses tracking market trends, product launches, and pricing strategies.
- Financial Planning & Investment
- Provide financial insights to enable sound, consumer-focused decisions.
- Support long-term investment evaluations with detailed financial modelling.
- Assist with business cases for new product launches and strategic initiatives.
- Conduct ad hoc analysis to improve ROI.
- Planning Cycle & Budgeting
- Support annual Long-Range Planning (LRP) updates and translate into financial projections.
- Coordinate yearly budgeting activities with commercial stakeholders and prepare senior management presentations.
What We're Looking For:
- Skills & Experience: Solid understanding of consumer value and commercial strategy; proven track record in financial analysis, budgeting, reporting, and data storytelling; strategic business planning and investment analysis experience; project management exposure is a plus.
- Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Management Accounting, or related; progress toward CIMA, CA(SA), ACCA, or relevant Honours/Postgrad preferred; 3–5 years' experience in Finance, Business Development, or Strategic Analysis (preferably within FMCG); prior exposure to Budget & Reporting functions.
- Technical & Soft Skills: Advanced Excel (non-negotiable); strong PowerPoint skills; PowerBI and NielsenIQ exposure advantageous; ability to collaborate cross-functionally and communicate effectively; self-driven with a knack for extracting insights from data.
