Thorburn Security Solutions is seeking a Business Development Manager with B2B experience to join our sales team at our Midrand Head Office.

Reporting to the Sales Director, you will work closely with our functional teams to support growth in sales volumes, maintain relationships with existing customers, and develop new business opportunities across various sectors.

Responsibilities
  1. New Business Development
  • Identify and prospect new clients within the security solutions sector using cold calling and network to build a pipeline.
  • Research potential clients and decision-makers, setting up meetings with key stakeholders.
  • Develop and present tailored proposals addressing client needs, collaborating on pricing and solutions.
  • Handle objections, negotiate effectively, and maintain a professional image to close deals.
  • Plan and execute approaches and pitches to engage clients.
  • Build and maintain long-term client relationships for ongoing growth.
  • Client Retention
    • Present new products/services and enhance existing relationships.
    • Collaborate with technical and internal teams to meet customer needs.
    • Participate in debriefs to assess and improve service delivery.
  • Business Development Planning
    • Attend industry events and provide market insights.
    • Present to management on trends and opportunities.
    • Leverage market knowledge to develop unique selling propositions.
  • Management and Research
    • Maintain accurate CRM data, track activities, and meet sales targets.
    • Collaborate with marketing for prerequisites like vendor listings.
    • Provide training to team members and understand company capabilities.
  • Bid Management
    • Prepare bid briefs, review documents, and qualify tenders.
    • Manage online tenders and support the bid process.
    • Track sales targets and coordinate opportunities.
