Business Development Manager (Renewable Energy Sector - JHB)
Reports to: CEO
Location: Johannesburg
Job Type: Permanent
Workplace: Hybrid
Salary: R50,000 - R80,000 CTC (Based on experience, skill, and current salary)

Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager who combines a hunter's drive for new opportunities with a strategic marketer's eye for brand, messaging, and campaigns.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, excels at building relationships, and has the creativity to craft compelling go-to-market strategies that convert.

Responsibilities
Business Development
  • Identify, research, and pursue new business opportunities in target markets.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, partners, and clients.
  • Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation to deal closure.
  • Create and deliver high-impact presentations and proposals.
  • Track and report on pipeline development, forecasts, and KPIs.
Marketing & Growth
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to design and execute campaigns that drive lead generation and brand awareness.
  • Use data and insights to guide audience targeting, messaging, and content strategy.
  • Support the development of marketing materials, case studies, and digital assets.
  • Leverage digital tools (e.g., CRM, email marketing platforms, social media) to nurture leads and drive engagement.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs.
Leadership
  • Prepare budgets, forecasts, and reports for senior management.
  • Lead, mentor, and motivate the sales and marketing teams to achieve targets.
  • Drive residential sales targets for water and solar solutions.
  • Maintain regular meeting cadence with direct reports.

  • Hybrid flexibility, with remote work available on Wednesdays (subject to managerial approval).

Qualifications and Experience
  • 3-6 years of experience in business development, sales, or a hybrid commercial/marketing role.
  • Proven track record of winning new business and exceeding targets.
  • Strong understanding of modern marketing strategies.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce) and marketing automation tools.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (preferred).
