Business Development Manager - Private Sector (JB5225)

Location: Johannesburg, Gauteng

Salary: Basic + commission OTE: R1 300 000 per annum

Employment Type: Permanent

Are you a driven and detail-oriented Business Development Manager with a proven ability to close deals and exceed targets?


We’re seeking a high-performing Business Development Manager with a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a genuine commitment to excellence. You should be target-driven, with a natural ability to close deals and consistently exceed goals.


The ideal candidate is a confident communicator who is enthusiastic about technology and is skilled at managing client expectations while building lasting relationships.


Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, or related field.
  • 5 + years experience in an Enterprise Software Sales role with a proven track record in exceeding challenging targets.
  • Valid driver's license and own reliable transport.
  • Must be comfortable in a hybrid, fast-paced, team-oriented work environment.
  • Experience with risk management software such as CURA, ACL, BarnOwl, or ISOMETRIX.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Proactively build and manage a strong new business pipeline using effective prospecting techniques.
  • Apply strategic sales methodologies to convert qualified leads into successful software sales.
  • Prepare compelling business cases, proposals, tenders, presentations, and sales contracts tailored to client needs.
  • Maintain accurate and timely sales status reports, including activities, next steps, pipeline progress, and sales forecasts aligned to targets.
  • Ensure the CRM system (Salesforce) is consistently updated with all relevant and current information.
  • Take a solution-based selling approach, focusing on client needs rather than just product features.
  • Manage the full sales cycle, from opportunity creation through to negotiation and deal closure.
  • Continuously develop industry knowledge to support customer education and awareness.
  • Build and maintain in-depth product knowledge, confidently articulating the unique benefits and value of the solution.
