Business Development Manager - Private Sector (JB)

Location: Johannesburg, Gauteng
Salary: Basic + commission OTE: R1 per annum
Employment Type: Permanent
Workplace: In-Office (Hybrid Role)

Are you a driven and detail-oriented Business Development Manager with a proven ability to close deals and exceed targets? We're seeking a high-performing Business Development Manager with a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a genuine commitment to excellence.

You should be target-driven, with a natural ability to close deals and consistently exceed goals. The ideal candidate is a confident communicator who is enthusiastic about technology and is skilled at managing client expectations while building lasting relationships.

Minimum Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field.
  2. 5+ years experience in an Enterprise Software Sales role with a proven track record in exceeding challenging targets.
  3. Valid driver's license and own reliable transport.
  4. Must be comfortable in a hybrid, fast-paced, team-oriented work environment.
  5. Experience with risk management software such as CURA, ACL, BarnOwl, or ISOMETRIX.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Proactively build and manage a strong new business pipeline using effective prospecting techniques.
  2. Apply strategic sales methodologies to convert qualified leads into successful software sales.
  3. Prepare compelling business cases, proposals, tenders, presentations, and sales contracts tailored to client needs.
  4. Maintain accurate and timely sales status reports, including activities, next steps, pipeline progress, and sales forecasts aligned to targets.
  5. Ensure the CRM system (Salesforce) is consistently updated with all relevant and current information.
  6. Take a solution-based selling approach, focusing on client needs rather than just product features.
  7. Manage the full sales cycle, from opportunity creation through to negotiation and deal closure.
  8. Continuously develop industry knowledge to support customer education and awareness.
  9. Build and maintain in-depth product knowledge, confidently articulating the unique benefits and value of the solution.
