Job description

Business Development Manager

Our client is the leading supplier of perspex / polymers in South Africa, with applications in eventing / exhibitions, architecture, farming / food production, and large-scale lighting. We are on the hunt for a self-driven individual with a passion for sales and the ability to engage effectively and build credibility across all levels of business.

As a Business Development Manager, your role is to retain top customers and nurture those key relationships over time, discovering new opportunities to work together as partners presenting solutions (substrates and lighting).

Through an increased understanding of their markets and customers, you should deliver significant value while building trusted relationships and greater customer satisfaction. We are looking for candidates with a creative flair and experience calling on leading FMCG manufacturers and retailers at a national level. Be comfortable selling into a diverse customer base, which could include sign makers, retail, point of sales, BTL, printers, fabricators, agriculture, FMCG, mining, plastics, packing, engineering, and selling LED lighting components and solutions.

Requirements
  1. Strong selling skills, combining both a focus on long-term relationships and short-term transactions.
  2. Excel at communicating in person, over the phone, via email, and across teams.
  3. Present at executive level and relate to team members on the factory floor.
  4. Ensure the customer's needs and expectations are properly met.
  5. Nurture strategic relationships within top accounts, with an in-depth knowledge of the company and its customers.
  6. Communicate effectively to build custom offers that deliver greater value to customers.
  7. Have a strategic perspective that goes beyond short-term gains.
  8. Solid negotiation skills, excellent presentation skills, and confidence to sell a solution.
  9. Communicate the value of our offerings both strategically and financially to our customers.
  10. Manage multiple clients, delegate projects, and keep strategic account plans on track.
  11. Make use of CRM tools to track each customer and manage every touchpoint.
  12. Ideally, have a network established in the lighting industry, focusing on retail, wholesale, signage, and film industry.

Salary: R60 - R65k negotiable + fuel + cell + commission and incentives.
