We’re looking for an experienced Business Development Manager - Oil & Gas to join our Africa team to drive business development opportunities for energy solutions in the O&G sector. The candidate will be based in Africa and must have the network, ability, and credibility to access site-level decision-makers and influencers of O&G operators in Africa. The individual will identify new business opportunities, foster key relationships, execute tactical initiatives, drive revenue growth, and market penetration in the Africa O&G sector. As the BDM - Oil & Gas, you will represent Aggreko at customer sites, build relationships, and work closely with team members and stakeholders to exceed targets.

What you’ll do:

  • Relationship building: Cultivate and nurture relationships with key decision-makers, stakeholders, including potential clients, partners, and industry influencers such as EPC contractors and IOC.
  • Business Growth: Lead the identification and pursuit of new business opportunities, including strategic partnerships and joint ventures.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to develop and execute strategies that drive revenue and market share.
  • Manage sales pipelines, track metrics, and implement corrective actions.
  • Conduct market research to identify trends, customer needs, and growth areas within the African O&G sector.
  • Analyze competitive landscapes and market shifts to identify strategic opportunities for Aggreko.
  • Participate in market sizing, forecasting, and budgeting, working with Marketing for sector-specific campaigns.
  • Develop and refine business development strategies aligned with growth goals.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to align strategies and build value propositions.
  • Develop comprehensive proposals and presentations for clients and partners.
  • Build a sales pipeline and forecast future revenue streams.
  • Provide timely reports, forecasts, and CRM updates.

Skills and experience:

  • Proven success in closing high-value deals and driving revenue.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Extensive network in the O&G sector.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with leadership skills.
  • Willingness to travel regularly within the region.

Qualifications:

  • Practical, tactical thinking with understanding of market trends and client needs.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as an O&G Sales Specialist.
  • Business and commercial acumen, capable of constructing complex proposals.
  • Technical sales expertise and ability to manage sales pipelines.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Data analysis skills for sales performance and market research.
  • Ability to develop strong customer relationships and be recognized as a trusted advisor.
  • Language proficiency: English and Portuguese.
  • Educational background in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience providing complex solutions.
  • Reporting to Sector Sales Manager of O&G in Africa.
