Your Mission:
We seek a seasoned Business Development Manager to manage key targeted accounts for Power Systems (PS) Business in the Mining, Minerals & Metal (MMM) Segment, as well as the ecosystem to maximize the full SE basket capture of the segment PAM. As account owner, you will have the full responsibility of analysing, developing & adapting account plans, Go-to-Market-Strategies (GTM) and influence channels (SE and those of Customers) to drive growth both in PS as well as across SE basket.
The ideal candidate will develop and implement the commercial strategy for the Segment in order to profitably grow the sales of SE products, solutions and services, as well as e nsure that all SE business within the Segment, regardless of GTM is done in full compliance with local laws & regulations and company's Trust Charter, governance, policies and processes.

- Grow profitable sales within the accounts by securing order targets, maximizing direct & indirect revenues and gross margin.
- Map and assess the customer decision making process and investigate their ecosystem landscape (using available tools like "relationship map"), establish customer intimacy through deep connections at all required levels of customer organisation, and other relevant entry doors (engineering, procurement, etc). Ensure SE commercial team is addressing key decision makers of the customer organization.
- Lead all SE sales teams dealing with the Segment by providing directions and guidelines in order to provide the customer with a coherent message from all parts of SE organisation. Provide leadership and vision to insure successful pursuit of opportunities. Clearly communicate the strategy of PS and SE within the Segment.
- Define and execute business plan by setting and tracking business goals for Power Systems Business in the Segment for each targeted account. Lead account platforming activities with sales team (V1s) for the Segment and follow the commercial action plan.
- Provide reliable local information & reports, communicating (at least) quarterly activity reports and accurate quarterly account plan reports (Order Intake: actual & year-end forecast). Keep up-to-date the list of opportunities in CRM platform (bFO) at all times and ensure strict adherence to Selling Governance.
- Deploy operationally Power Systems Business playbook for your accounts within the Segment.
- Gather meaningful and available data about competitors, customer resources & budgets, to define SE market strengths & weaknesses.
- Manage customer responsiveness and overall customer satisfaction. Keep regular contact with customer to ensure satisfaction before and after execution.
- Work closely with peers of other Business Units, Tender Managers & Execution teams to further align and maximize the overall commercial & delivery effectiveness.
- Take an active role in qualification activities of all Power Systems and SE basket products towards End Users (and EU ecosystems) within the Segment.
- Support technically influencing and specifying activities at early stages of opportunity identification, with a strong focus on the Digital (PRGRID) activity perspiration, as well as all recurring offers (EAA etc)
- Take an active role in opportunity influencing, SOC preparation, pipeline reviews, offer optimization, negotiation discussions and order booking.
- Review Requests for Quotations (RFQ) providing sales and tendering teams with clear technical synthesis of Power Systems products and solutions competitive advantages.

Qualifications- Undergraduate tertiary qualification in a technical stream, with a postgraduate business qualification preferable.
- 10+ years of experience in a Sales environment, with a proven track record of sales and marketing of equipment/products (hardware and software) used in the MMM Segment
- Forward thinker, with a deep understanding of the operating/procurement models both in public (Municipalities, ESKOM, BPC, etc) as well as private (IPPs, consultants, EPCs, contractors, etc) dimensions of the MMM Segment
- Technically competent and able to demonstrate the value of the digital platforms when combined with the hardware products and use this as a differentiating strategy.
- Exposure to the dynamics of the MMM system ecosystems within the SADC region, and knowledge of key stakeholders in all levels of ecosystems (consultants, contractors, etc)
- Ability to ideate a solution addressing the customer requirement and involve the correct resources within the company in order to address the opportunity from the early identification phase through to execution.
- Drive collaboration and definition of team goals (both within PS team as well as other BUs), while ensuring achievement of individual goals
- Availability to travel within SA and SADC regions
- Ability to take quick decisions and risk appetite
- Prior exposure to strong corporate governance and understanding of leveraging processes and procedures while ensuring highest customer satisfaction levels
- Comfortable in a high-performance culture, able to work under pressure and deliver results consistently
- Ability to coach and mentor junior talent
