We are seeking a Business Development Manager for a permanent vacancy based in KZN.
Applicants are required to meet the following criteria:
Grade 12 required, tertiary qualification in electrical engineering advantageous
5+ years’ business development experience and must have a strong knowledge of electrical products
Strong ability on MS Office, and practical experience on Netstock/K8 advantageous
Valid drivers
Due to their equity requirements, an EE candidate is required
The successful applicant would be responsible for, but not limited to:
Develop and implement strategic action plans for the business development function to improve overall business performance
Align the business development strategy with the organizational strategy, goals and objectives
Strategies, research, develop and review appropriate business development principles and processes and adopt best practices
Ensure adherence with corporate governance and ethics guidelines
Review and evaluate business development risks and make suitable recommendations
Identify, source and pursue new business opportunities by continuous review of the market in which the organization operates and of potential new markets
Investigate opportunities for strategic partnerships in the region
Review and monitor business development pipeline and success rate
Network with potential distributors, contractors and industry professionals to identify tender opportunities in the region
Manage the bid and proposal’s function and execute the bid strategy in the region
Conduct research to identify new markets and customer needs
Arrange business meetings with prospective clients
Promote the company’s products/services addressing or predicting clients’ objectives
Prepare sales contracts ensuring adherence to law-established rules and guidelines
Keep records of sales, revenue, invoices etc.
Build long-term relationships with new and existing customers
Develop entry level staff into valuable salespeople
Contribute to short and long-term organizational planning and strategy as a member of the team
Set and drive financial objectives and targets for the business development function in line with organizational objectives
Report on variances in the budget and the reasons for variances
Ensure controls are in place to mitigate financial risks
Develop and manage annual budgets, estimated potential and planned profitability per customer
Reconcile monthly activity, generating year-end reports and fulfilling tax related requirements
Oversee overall financial management, planning, systems and controls
Develop an individual budget program
Invoice to funding sources including calculation of completed units of service
Organize fiscal documents
