Overview
SUMMARY :
We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Business Development Manager to drive growth and expand our market presence within the logistics and supply chain sector in Kenya. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in B2B sales, logistics operations, and a deep understanding of the Kenyan market.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities in freight forwarding, warehousing, transportation, and supply chain services.
- Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve company targets.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders.
- Conduct market research to understand industry trends, competitor offerings, and customer needs.
- Prepare and deliver compelling proposals and presentations to prospective clients.
- Collaborate with internal teams (operations, sales, and customer service) to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and service agreements.
- Represent the company at industry events, exhibitions, and networking forums.
- Monitor sales performance and report on KPIs, pipeline status, and forecasting.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in sales or business development in the logistics or supply chain industry in Kenya.
- Strong understanding of freight forwarding, customs clearance, warehousing, or transport logistics.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
- Self-driven, strategic thinker with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Proficiency in CRM tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel locally.
Skills
- Existing network of logistics clients or industry contacts.
- Knowledge of regional logistics corridors (e.g., Northern Corridor, Port of Mombasa).
- Experience with digital logistics platforms or SaaS logistics solutions.
