Job description

Our client is looking for a Business Development Manager to join their team in Johannesburg. This full-time, on-site role forms part of a strategic growth initiative within the industrial equipment sector. The successful candidate will be instrumental in launching and expanding a new range of high-value products in the local market, supported by robust technical and operational infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct market analysis to identify target sectors, growth opportunities, and key competitors.

  • Drive full-cycle B2B sales, from prospecting to closing.

  • Build a sales pipeline and meet revenue targets across both equipment categories.

  • Engage potential customers in logistics, warehousing, industrial, and commercial sectors.

  • Develop and implement sales strategies to penetrate new and competitive markets.

  • Deliver product demonstrations and support application-specific solution design.

  • Collaborate closely with internal service, technical, and operational teams for successful onboarding and retention.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in capital equipment sales (preferably forklifts, cleaning machines, or related industrial machinery).

  • Strong technical ability and confidence in performing demonstrations.

  • Proven track record of opening new accounts and driving growth.

  • Self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset and high resilience.

  • Excellent presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

  • Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel nationally.
