A well-established freight company based in Midrand is seeking an ambitious and experienced Business Development Manager to take ownership of revenue growth, market expansion, and strategic client acquisition. This is a high-impact role where your ability to identify opportunities, pitch solutions, and close deals will directly shape the company’s success.
As our Business Development Manager, your role will revolve around creating and executing strategies that drive revenue, improve market penetration, and enhance client retention.
Develop and implement strategic business development plans to grow market share within the freight and logistics sector.
Identify and approach new prospects across key industries (manufacturing, retail, automotive, etc.)
Deliver compelling sales presentations and tailored logistics solutions to clients.
Build strong, trust-based relationships with clients through consistent follow-up and value-driven communication.
Ensure end-to-end client satisfaction, from initial engagement to post-sale support.
Identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities to maximize account value.
Achieve and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
Maintain detailed pipeline and activity reports via CRM systems.
Present business performance updates and forecasts to senior management.
Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and networking forums.
Build relationships with freight forwarders, clearing agents, and supply chain executives.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of freight rates, international trade regulations, and logistics innovations.
A proven track record of at least 5 years in business development or sales within the freight, logistics, or supply chain industries.
Strong understanding of freight forwarding, warehousing, customs clearance, and transport operations.
Exceptional sales acumen, negotiation skills, and deal-closing ability.
Ability to design and pitch logistics solutions tailored to client needs.
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Self-driven, results-oriented, and able to work under pressure.
Valid driver’s license and own transport essential.
A lucrative annual salary of R1,334,565.00 CTC
