Tax Specialist Responsibilities
  1. Tax Planning: Developing, formulating, and executing tax planning strategies tailored to the group tax environment.
  2. Legal Structure Optimization: Assessing the organization's legal structure globally to enhance tax efficiency.
  3. Effective Tax Rate Management: Analyzing the organization's Effective Tax Rate (ETR) worldwide and devising strategies to optimize it.
  4. Cross Border Tax Planning: Optimizing cross-border transactions to minimize withholding taxes, double taxation, and other issues.
  5. Financial Modelling: Using financial models to assess the tax impact of business decisions like expansions, mergers, and acquisitions.
  6. International Tax Compliance: Ensuring adherence to international tax standards and treaties applicable to group transactions.
  7. Tax Legislation Monitoring: Keeping updated on changes in tax laws and regulations across countries and adjusting strategies accordingly.
  8. Documentation & Reporting: Preparing and maintaining documentation to support tax strategies and demonstrate compliance.
  9. Risk Assessment: Conducting tax risk assessments, evaluating audit likelihood, and potential dispute impacts.
  10. Stakeholder Communication: Collaborating with finance, legal, and operations teams to align tax strategies with business goals.
  11. Tax Law Expertise: Developing a deep understanding of tax laws and regulations in operational regions.
  12. Tax Filing & Payments: Ensuring accurate and timely filing of tax returns and payments.
  13. Withholding Tax Review: Reviewing withholding tax requirements with country finance teams and ensuring compliance.
  14. Record Maintenance: Keeping organized records of all tax-related transactions and correspondence.
  15. Tax Reporting: Submitting necessary tax reports and disclosures on time.
  16. Tax Credits & Incentives: Identifying and claiming eligible tax credits, deductions, and incentives.
  17. Tax Dispute Management: Responding to audits, inquiries, and requests from tax authorities, providing documentation and negotiations.
