Business Development Manager Agriculture – Southern Africa

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY: Reporting structure: This Position reports into the GM Regional Network Southern Africa

General overview:

  1. Identify and create new opportunities, with the objective of growing the Agricultural Market.
  2. Establish and maintain strategic partnerships.
  3. Develop the relationship with those partners, thus driving revenue.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Market Research:
    Analyse market trends and customer needs identifying potential growth opportunities.
  2. Relationship development:
    Build strong relationships with all potential customers and Dealers.
  3. Dealer Development:
    Identify and establish strategic partnerships that enable growth.
  4. Negotiation:
    Negotiate deals and agreements with mutual benefit to partner and Manitou.
  5. Sales Support:
    Provide information, resources, and recommendations to all sales organizations.
  6. Market Growth:
    Explore new applications and solutions within the Agricultural market.
  7. Strategic Planning:
    Identify market trends and propose actions to align with those trends or create new ones. Identify potential opportunities, proposing actions to take advantage of those opportunities.
  8. Metrics and Reporting:
    Track Key performance indicators (KPIs) such as and not limited to:
    i. Revenue growth
    ii. Partnership success
    iii. Market penetration.

EDUCATION:

Minimum qualification: Grade 12 (3 year tertiary education valuable)

EXPERIENCE:

  1. 5 Years+ experience in Capital Equipment industry in the Agricultural market.
  2. Demonstrates a high level of understanding of agricultural environment and requirements.
  3. Proven track record in Sales Management.
  4. Experience in working with senior stakeholders and Client relationship management.
  5. High competence in computer literacy and data analysis.
  6. Adept at learning methods, process and strategies related to Agriculture.
  7. Cultural awareness.

INTERNAL/EXTERNAL CONNECTIONS: Has existing relationships that can be leveraged.

LOCATION & EXPECTED TRAVEL: This position is based at Proton Industrial Park, Chloorkop, South Africa with many trips within the region.
