Business Development Manager

A national logistics and transportation company is seeking a Business Development Manager to join their team.

Company Location and Work Arrangement

The company is based in the Eastern Cape and is open to candidates from Johannesburg and surrounding areas. The position will be remote if the selected candidate is not based in the Eastern Cape.

Requirements
  • Tertiary qualification in Logistics, Marketing, or Business Administration (advantageous)
  • Strong logistics/business transportation experience
  • Knowledge of the local trading market
  • Confident and self-driven
  • Driver's License
  • Fluent verbal and written communication skills in English and Afrikaans
  • Team player
Responsibilities
  • Follow up with existing customers to solidify mutual expectations of performance and growth
  • Maintain and update client records
  • Acquire new business while maintaining existing clients
  • Keep up with industry trends and developments
  • Conduct introductory calls with new prospects
  • Plan approaches and pitches
  • Collaborate with staff and internal colleagues to meet customer needs
  • Forecast sales targets and ensure team achievement
  • Provide business development training and mentoring to staff
  • Research and understand the company's capabilities
