Our client is seeking a Business Development Manager to lead the growth of their wireless solutions portfolio across South Africa and into Sub-Saharan Africa. This role involves identifying new business opportunities, building strategic partnerships, driving product adoption in new and existing markets, and shaping the overall market strategy.

Overview
Primary Duties
  • Obtain and maintain relevant certifications and approvals for wireless products across targeted African markets.
  • Introduce the product range to consultants, specifiers, and key decision-makers, ensuring inclusion in future projects.
  • Drive adoption of wireless technology within corporates, end-users, and existing customer networks.
  • Identify growth opportunities through competitor research, market segmentation, and customer insights.
  • Provide input into the product strategy and go-to-market approach, ensuring alignment with broader sales and marketing objectives.
Secondary Duties
  • Promote wireless solutions over traditional technologies, positioning them as the preferred option in the industry.
  • Lead and coordinate large-scale tender submissions nationally.
  • Compile competitor comparisons and highlight differentiators to strengthen market positioning.
  • Collaborate with leadership on stockholding levels and supply requirements.
  • Support the development of local training programmes in collaboration with international partners and training teams.
General
  • Represent the company at trade shows, exhibitions, and industry forums.
  • Provide input to marketing through case studies, product insights, and success stories.
  • Report regularly to senior management on business development progress and results.
Requirements

  • Experience in wireless technology, electronics, ICT, IoT, or related technical solutions.
  • Knowledge of fire detection systems is a strong advantage (first prize).
