Job description

This role will be responsible for planning, implementing, and overseeing RMA Life's overall Broker Development strategy, as well as expanding its existing book size.

The role is accountable for the RMA Life Group Risk sales and customer targets, aligned with our BOS Strategy.

Additionally, the role ensures sustainable revenue growth and profitability by maximizing market penetration.

What Will You Do?
  1. Provide strategic direction to the RMA Life Group Risk Business Development Function.
  2. Secure new business partners and expand opportunities within the current client base.
  3. Design, implement, and manage new and researched business initiatives, strategies, and solutions, including relationship development and retention.
  4. Negotiate business development transactions, including agreements and partnerships.
  5. Maintain knowledge of the group risk industry, competitors, and regulatory activity.
  6. Conduct research, stay updated with trends, and maintain a competitive edge.
  7. Establish relationships with key market players.
  8. Attend industry events and conferences.
  9. Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients, intermediaries, and strategic partners.
  10. Partner with Pricing and Product teams for technical expertise and knowledge sharing.
  11. Collaborate with various departments to ensure excellent client service.
  12. Deliver customer analytics and market intelligence to inform business decisions.
  13. Contribute to marketing and customer strategy development.
  14. Collaborate across RMA Life divisions to align strategies.
What You’ll Bring to the Table?
  • 10-15 years of employee benefits experience, including at least 5 years in business development.
  • Business degree (advantageous).
  • RE5 qualification (required).
  • NQF 5 in Wealth Management or Financial Planning / FAIS credits (required).
  • Ability to develop positive stakeholder relationships.
  • Exceptional sales and business development skills.
  • Knowledge of MS Office.
  • Strategic, solution-oriented thinking.
  • Analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in English and Afrikaans.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership.
