Job description

Address your CV and motivation letter to thea.cronje@gci.co.za

As a fast-growing, values-driven Wealth business, we’ve seen that partnerships are some of the biggest growth drivers — from mergers and acquisitions to advisor recruitment.

Now we’re hiring a Business Development Manager to help us scale that engine.

What you’ll do

As Business Development Manager, your work will focus on two areas:

Drive External growth with Mergers & Acquisitions

  • Build a strategic pipeline of advisors, books, and firms
  • Lead the end-to-end engagement process — from qualified prospects to signed deals
  • Assess cultural and strategic fit, and manage deal conversion
  • Build, refine, and scale a repeatable M&A business development system
  • Partner with the Executive team on deal structuring and seamless post-deal integration

Expand and Enable our Wealth Manager force

  • Identify and attract high-quality, purpose-driven Wealth Managers
  • Ensure that onboarding is clear, high-touch, and performance-minded
  • Help new Wealth Managers build an early-stage pipeline and achieve commercial traction
  • Support the growth of a sales muscle that’s values-led and self-sustaining
  • Develop scalable systems to streamline M&A and recruitment processes, enabling leadership to focus on strategic priorities

What success looks like

  • A repeatable M&A growth pipeline, converting consistently
  • Increased headcount of high-quality Wealth Managers
  • New Wealth Managers feel aligned, supported, and are commercially successful as part of a growing internal sales muscle
  • Successful integration of external advisors and firms into the GCI culture
  • Scaled impact with less day-to-day dependency on the leadership team (Strategic thinking and Proactivity)
  • Strong relationships built externally and internally

How you’ll work at GCI

We deeply believe our values shape how we achieve our mission of empowering people to achieve financial freedom:

  • Empower: Client success is our compass
  • Master: We constantly strive to improve and innovate
  • Prioritize: We focus on what truly matters
  • Ownership: We lead by taking proactive ownership
  • Welcome: We create safe spaces for authenticity and connection
  • Enable: We collaborate to enable each other
  • Refine: We unlock clarity and confidence through simplicity

You might be a good fit if you…

  • Have 5+ years in business development or sales in financial services, with a proven track record in building pipelines.
  • Understand financial advisory dynamics and can build trust quickly.
  • Think strategically, act proactively, and excel in hybrid teams.
  • Hold a BCom or equivalent qualification; a CFP designation is also advantageous.

What we offer

  • A role in a high-impact, growing wealth business.
  • A values-led team passionate about meaningful outcomes.
  • An opportunity to shape South Africa’s financial advice landscape.

If you're energised by unlocking growth through people and partnerships—this is your opportunity.
