About the Role

As the Business Development Manager – Southern Africa, you’ll lead Akaliko’s regional sales and market development efforts. Your mission: grow our customer base, increase revenue, and deliver outstanding service across mining and industrial markets. You’ll work closely with our executive, technical, and supply chain teams to ensure we deliver top-tier solutions, especially in HME components and hydraulic cylinders.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute regional business development and go-to-market strategies
• Build lasting relationships with strategic accounts and key stakeholders
• Drive sales growth through lead generation, deal closure, and account expansion
• Collaborate with technical and operations teams for seamless project delivery
• Identify partnerships, distribution channels, and adjacent market opportunities
• Represent Akaliko at industry events, trade shows, and strategic forums

KPIs You’ll Drive

• New client acquisition and revenue growth
• Quotation-to-order conversion and payment efficiency
• Customer satisfaction and internal collaboration metrics

You Bring

• 5+ years in B2B sales or BD in industrial or mining sectors
• Experience with OEMs, component suppliers, or HME (hydraulic cylinder experience is a big plus)
• Strong sales, negotiation, and relationship management skills
• Bachelor's degree (postgrad/technical qualifications a plus)
• Willingness to travel extensively across Southern Africa
