Overview

A large renewables company with offices around the world is looking for a Business Development Manager. This firm offers exceptional growth opportunities. While a large international firm, management is incredibly invested, focused and are hands-on in the growth of the South African operations.

The Business Development Manager is the cornerstone of the company, responsible for identifying new commercial and industrial business opportunities to generate revenue, improve profitability and help the business grow. S/he will bring forth the best solar and energy efficiency solutions by identifying sales leads, pitching services to new clients and maintaining good working relationships with new contacts.

The BD Manager will attend events and network, take stands at conferences, cold call, and respond to incoming leads. The goal is to drive sustainable financial growth through boosting sales and forging strong relationships with clients. The job involves careful strategic planning and positioning in the market, and enhancing the operation of the business and reputation in the region. The role closely collaborates with Risk, Legal, Finance, and Technical teams.

Minimum requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Development, Economics or Marketing.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and / or Master’s degree in Business Administration preferred.
  • Previous experience in the solar industry.
  • 7 years’ experience in a mid to senior level in Sales.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
