Location: Waterfront Cape Town(Comfortable working in remote and hybrid team environments.) Gauteng

Salary: R100,000 – R125,000 CTC per month

Our client, a leading and innovative life insurer, specializes in retirement income solutions such as life annuities, endowments, and term certain annuities. Since its local launch in 2015, the company has been committed to delivering exceptional service in the financial services market.

We are seeking a dynamic Business Development Manager to join the Distribution and Marketing team. This role will focus on supporting sales targets and driving business from various sources, including Independent Financial Advisers (IFAs), direct clients, pension funds, and platform business partners.

The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated professional with a deep understanding of retirement income strategies, capable of building strong relationships and contributing to the team's success.

Business Skills & Experience:

  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • 3+ years of experience in the financial services industry.
  • 1+ years of experience in sales, administration, or customer service.
Industry Skills & Experience:
  • Strong understanding of the financial services industry and insurance products.
  • Certified Financial Planner (CFP) qualification is advantageous.

  • Bachelor’s in Business Administration (BBA)
  • Bachelor’s in Commerce (BCom) – Finance, Economics, or Management

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive and support sales targets from various sources, including:
  • Independent Financial Advisers (IFAs)
  • Non-advised clients (direct clients)
  • Default annuity arrangements with pension funds
  • Platform business partners
  • Discretionary Fund Managers
  • Manage the entire sales process, from lead generation to deal closure.
  • Coordinate, create, and deliver written, online, and face-to-face sales pitches.
  • Develop and execute effective sales and lead generation campaigns in collaboration with marketing and external suppliers.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales opportunities and ensure consistent follow-up as part of the prospect nurturing process.
  • Assist in developing sales collateral (including thought leadership content) with the marketing team to support sales efforts.
  • Represent the company at industry events, seminars, and conferences to build strong professional networks.
  • Contribute to achieving new and existing business targets as part of the Distribution team.
  • Deliver presentations on the company’s range of services and products to key audiences.
  • Build in-depth knowledge and expertise in retirement income strategies to serve as a subject matter expert.
  • Provide regular reports on sales opportunities, progress, and challenges to maintain a strong sales pipeline.
  • Identify and escalate risks emerging from the sales and distribution strategy when necessary.
