Infrastructure Manager
The infrastructure manager is responsible for providing the strategic direction for the infrastructure function on a group level.

You will lead the development of infrastructure strategy and architecture standards and procedures for the organization.

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Manage overall IT day-to-day operations to improve infrastructure costs, performance, and end user satisfaction.
2. Provide leadership in planning and managing computer operations, production support, systems and database administration, and network operations.
3. Ensure system performance and SLAs are met.
4. Manage IT resource requirements to ensure an appropriate balance between tactical and strategic demands.
5. Manage the physical infrastructure to achieve the full asset life cycle of all assets.
6. Manage strategic relationships with key IT product and service providers.
7. Provide in-depth technical expertise for both tactical and operational initiatives.
8. Provision, in close cooperation with third-party service providers, an IT infrastructure suitable for the group to access and use their business applications.
9. Assess the impact of IT industry trends on current and future enterprise infrastructure needs and projects.
10. Interface with business unit managers to define infrastructure support initiatives and solutions for improving service efficiency and effectiveness.
11. Engage with software development teams to maintain the balance between capacity, availability, and security across the infrastructure.
12. Analyze and predict trends and develop long-range plans designed to maintain cost-effectiveness.
13. Participate in IT strategy planning activities.
14. Design and troubleshoot the group's global network of IT services to meet the functional objectives of the business.
15. Develop reporting for vendor performance in areas including quality, capacity, systems, and responsiveness.
16. Ensure the infrastructure team is mitigating, monitoring, and managing infrastructure-related risks.
17. Work closely with project team members' line managers for time allocation and prioritization.
18. Manage a dynamic team of employed staff and outsourced service providers to elevate the capabilities of technology systems to meet business needs.
19. Participate in the budget process.

Desired Experience & Qualification

1. At least 5 years of proven IT management experience, including managing teams responsible for architecture design and deployment, systems lifecycle management, and infrastructure planning and operations.
2. Experience in network design and administration, data center operations, database administration, and systems programming and administration.
3. Strong people and relationship management skills.
4. Practical working knowledge of ITIL and / or MOF practices (preferably ITIL certified).
5. Practical working knowledge of Information Security best practices (preferably ISO and / or CISM certified).
6. Understanding of TOGAF, COBIT, and POPIA.
7. Experience leveraging cloud-based solutions as part of the infrastructure (preferably Azure and / or AWS).
8. Ability to think logically and demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
9. Ability to manage internal and external projects from inception to completion.
10. Expertise in setting and managing customer expectations.
11. Skill in conceptualizing creative solutions and presenting them to senior management.
12. Strong knowledge of business needs with the ability to establish and maintain a high level of internal and external customer trust and confidence.
13. Ability to develop and deliver projects using leading-edge technologies.
14. Experience working with vendors.
15. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
16. Ability to work within a defined budget while ensuring delivery.
