What will you be doing

The Retail Business Development Manager is a crucial member of the Retail team, reporting to the Retail Account Director. The ideal candidate must have a high degree of autonomy and problem-solving capabilities, an innovative and commercial mindset, and superb organizational and interpersonal skills to deliver revenue growth on the specific retail technology platform.

You will identify supplier business development opportunities, develop and implement sales strategies, and drive new revenue growth via Circana's best-in-class solutions with available data assets and tiered options. You will actively prospect and secure adoption of the platform as the primary use of insights for suppliers working with retailers.

Job Responsibilities

  • Business Development Strategy: Formulate go-to-market strategies and curate a unique value proposition for suppliers trading within the retailer.
  • Customer Relationship Development / Prospecting: Develop and implement relationship management plans for a broad set of suppliers, identify and build relationships with decision-makers and influencers within the supplier organization.
  • Customer needs clarification: Set objectives for sales calls; develop tailored presentations; gather and analyze relevant information; gain agreement on customer requirements.
  • Sales Opportunities Creation: Build a personal network within the retail and manufacturer industry; obtain market intelligence; enhance visibility and reputation of Circana and its solutions.
  • Sell Customer Propositions: Configure complex product and service solutions, present to customers, and negotiate agreements within predefined commercial parameters.
  • Pipeline Management: Develop and manage a robust pipeline from discovery to close, utilizing Circana's CRM platform.
  • Promoting Customer Focus: Develop internal marketing plans and collaborate across departments to strengthen relationships and build external customer engagement.

Requirements

  • Tertiary education
  • Proven track record in consultative sales, focusing on new business acquisition, with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in selling retail technology leveraging point-of-sale, loyalty, transaction, supply chain, and media data.
  • Excellent at initiating sales conversations, understanding client needs, and delivering compelling presentations.
  • Experience leading executive-level negotiations and securing multi-year enterprise contracts.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office 365 (PowerPoint, Word, Excel).
  • Experience with CRM platforms, preferably Microsoft Dynamics.
  • Strong competencies in customer focus, managing complexity, persuasion, organization, interpersonal skills, and effective communication. Ability to build networks.
