Minimum requirements for the role :
- A BComm in logistics, supply chain, or a related qualification with a background in transport would be an advantage but is not essential. Qualifications are not mandatory if the candidate has relevant experience.
- Previous sales experience within the dry and liquid tanker bulk chemical transport and logistics sectors is advantageous.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
- The candidate must be resilient, capable of multitasking, and able to work under pressure.
- Proficiency in computer literacy is essential.
- Experience with cross-border chemical transport is preferred.
- Understanding of SHEQ requirements in chemical handling and transportation is necessary.
- Strong knowledge of chemical supply chain operations, especially bulk dry and liquid tanker logistics.
The successful candidate will be responsible for :
- Managing key accounts in the dry and liquid tanker bulk chemical transport and logistics sectors, ensuring service excellence, contract compliance, and business growth.
- Building and maintaining strategic customer relationships within the chemical transport sector.
- Overseeing the transportation of bulk chemicals via road tankers, ensuring compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and operational efficiency.
- Understanding clients' business needs, pain points, and future logistics requirements.
- Leading regular client review meetings to discuss performance, KPIs, and improvement areas.
- Identifying opportunities for upselling and cross-selling services.
- Developing tailored solutions and proposals aligned with client needs and market trends.
- Collaborating with commercial and pricing teams on quotations, tenders, and renewals.
- Coordinating with logistics, planning, fleet, and safety teams to meet or exceed delivery expectations.
- Resolving service issues promptly while maintaining positive client relationships.
- Monitoring key metrics such as OTIF, demurrage, utilization rates, and transit times.
- Working closely with internal departments including operations, HSE, compliance, and finance to ensure seamless service delivery.
