Job description

Minimum requirements for the role :

• A BComm in logistics, supply chain, or a related qualification with a background in transport would be an advantage but is not essential. Qualifications are not mandatory if the candidate has relevant experience.
• Previous sales experience within the dry and liquid tanker bulk chemical transport and logistics sectors is advantageous.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
• The candidate must be resilient, capable of multitasking, and able to work under pressure.
• Proficiency in computer literacy is essential.
• Experience with cross-border chemical transport is preferred.
• Understanding of SHEQ requirements in chemical handling and transportation is necessary.
• Strong knowledge of chemical supply chain operations, especially bulk dry and liquid tanker logistics.

The successful candidate will be responsible for :

• Managing key accounts in the dry and liquid tanker bulk chemical transport and logistics sectors, ensuring service excellence, contract compliance, and business growth.
• Building and maintaining strategic customer relationships within the chemical transport sector.
• Overseeing the transportation of bulk chemicals via road tankers, ensuring compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and operational efficiency.
• Understanding clients' business needs, pain points, and future logistics requirements.
• Leading regular client review meetings to discuss performance, KPIs, and improvement areas.
• Identifying opportunities for upselling and cross-selling services.
• Developing tailored solutions and proposals aligned with client needs and market trends.
• Collaborating with commercial and pricing teams on quotations, tenders, and renewals.
• Coordinating with logistics, planning, fleet, and safety teams to meet or exceed delivery expectations.
• Resolving service issues promptly while maintaining positive client relationships.
• Monitoring key metrics such as OTIF, demurrage, utilization rates, and transit times.
• Working closely with internal departments including operations, HSE, compliance, and finance to ensure seamless service delivery.
