Minimum requirements for the role :
- A BComm or supply chain qualification, or related field, with a background in transport is advantageous but not essential. Relevant experience is acceptable without formal qualifications.
- Previous sales experience in the dry and liquid tanker bulk chemical transport and logistics sectors is preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
- The candidate must be resilient, capable of multitasking, and able to work under pressure.
- Proficiency in computer literacy is necessary.
- Experience with cross-border chemical transport is desirable.
- Understanding of chemical handling and transportation requirements is important.
- Strong knowledge of chemical supply chain operations, especially bulk dry and liquid tanker logistics, is essential.
The successful candidate will be responsible for :
- Managing key accounts in the dry and liquid tanker bulk chemical transport and logistics sectors, ensuring service excellence, contract compliance, and growth.
- Developing and nurturing strategic customer relationships within the sector.
- Overseeing the transport of bulk chemicals via road tankers, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and safety standards.
- Understanding client needs, pain points, and future logistics requirements.
- Leading regular client review meetings to discuss performance and improvement opportunities.
- Identifying upselling and cross-selling opportunities.
- Developing tailored solutions and proposals aligned with client needs and market trends.
- Collaborating with commercial and pricing teams on quotations, tenders, and renewals.
- Coordinating with logistics, planning, fleet, and safety teams to meet or exceed delivery expectations.
- Resolving service issues promptly while maintaining positive relationships.
- Monitoring key performance metrics such as OTIF, demurrage, utilization rates, and transit times.
- Working closely with internal departments to ensure seamless service delivery.
