Job description

We are currently recruiting for a Business Development Executive – Sales Engineer – Industrial Gases for the location South Africa for our client in the Oil and Gas industry located in Jebel Ali FZE. They are currently expanding their current operations and are looking to add to their team.

Responsibilities:

  1. Customer Engagement:
    • Identify and target potential clients within industries that require industrial gases, such as manufacturing, chemicals, electronics, healthcare, and more.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective customers, understanding their unique requirements and challenges.
  2. Technical Expertise:
    • Develop a deep understanding of the various industrial gases, their applications, and benefits for different industries.
    • Provide technical expertise to clients, explaining the features and benefits of the products, and recommending suitable solutions based on their needs.
  3. Solution Development:
    • Collaborate with internal teams to customize solutions based on customer requirements, ensuring that the offered products meet or exceed expectations.
    • Prepare technical proposals, quotations, and presentations to effectively communicate the value of the products and services.
  4. Sales and Revenue Generation:
    • Achieve and exceed sales targets by identifying opportunities, negotiating contracts, and closing deals.
    • Develop and execute sales strategies, including identifying key decision-makers and influencers within target companies.
  5. Market Analysis:
    • Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and market dynamics related to industrial gases.
    • Utilize market insights to identify potential growth areas and develop strategies to gain a competitive edge.
  6. Customer Support:
    • Provide post-sales support, including addressing technical inquiries, resolving customer issues, and ensuring smooth product implementation.
  7. Collaboration:
    • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including operations, logistics, and technical support, to ensure seamless customer experiences.
  8. Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and progress towards targets.
    • Generate regular reports for management outlining sales performance, market trends, and potential opportunities or challenges.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience in technical sales, preferably in the industrial gases or chemicals sector.
  • Strong understanding of industrial gases and their applications in various industries – specifically related to offshore & helium i.e. Diving Gases, MRI Helium & Pipeline Services.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand customer needs and provide tailored solutions.
  • Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills to build and maintain client relationships.
  • Proficiency in using CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to meet with clients and attend industry events.
  • Self-motivated and result-oriented with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
