Job Title: Business Development Executive (Airfreight)
The Business Development Executive is responsible for driving business growth by building and acquiring new customers for the Airfreight product in Johannesburg.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Development: Identify and prospect potential clients in South Africa for airfreight through market research, industry events, personal networks, and sales techniques to generate leads and new business opportunities.
Pipeline Management: Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline by engaging potential clients within Johannesburg.
Sales Presentations and Proposals: Prepare and deliver tailored sales presentations, proposals, and quotations, highlighting DB Schenker's services and value proposition. Negotiate pricing and contractual terms.
New Business Implementation: Document SOPs between customers and DB Schenker to ensure effective onboarding and integration across services.
Collaboration with Internal Teams: Work with operations, pricing, and customer service teams to ensure seamless service delivery and develop tailored logistics solutions. Provide shipment updates and manage client expectations.
Market Analysis and Reporting: Monitor industry trends, competitors, and provide insights and recommendations. Generate reports on sales activities, pipeline, and revenue forecasts.
Customer Relationship Management (CRM): Use CRM systems to manage sales activities, maintain client profiles, and track interactions and reports.
Sales Targets and Performance: Achieve and exceed sales targets. Regularly review performance and strategize for growth.
Continuous Learning: Stay updated on industry trends, participate in training, and enhance sales skills and knowledge.
Minimum Requirements:
Matric certificate essential.
Minimum 3 years' sales experience in airfreight.
Proven track record in business development within a multinational logistics company.
