Job Responsibilities
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the shipping and logistics sector, with an emphasis on contract logistics and warehousing customers.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and offering tailored solutions.
- Conduct market research to identify trends, customer needs, and the competitive landscape.
- Experience with pricing for warehousing and/or freight forwarding.
- Prepare and deliver compelling presentations to potential clients to showcase our services, including contract logistics, freight forwarding, and road solutions, including final mile solutions.
- Collaborate with internal teams (operations, marketing, finance) to ensure seamless execution of client projects.
- Monitor sales performance metrics and report on outcomes to senior management, including pipeline management reporting.
- Participate in industry events, conferences, and networking activities to promote company services.
- Negotiate contracts with clients while ensuring profitability for the company.
- Assist in developing marketing strategies that align with business development objectives.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
Proven experience in business development or hunter sales within the shipping or logistics industry (2+ years preferred).
Strong understanding of sales, hunting for new business, logistics operations, and supply chain processes.
Compensation
35k inclusive of cell phone allowance and travel allowance + capped medical insurance + retirement fund, which includes disability cover, funeral cover, and life cover.
